Gloria campaigned for many Special Projects including: Campaigned for school bus service for Kindergartners through Third graders, changing school board policy on mileage requirements, she established Southwest Improvement Committee to promote low-income single family homes throughout city (1972), now such homes exist in many Vineland neighborhoods and she worked to have cable television linked to Cumberland County medical Center for benefits of senior residents. and Cumberland County Women's Hall of Fame. She was a member of the Board of Directors for Southwest Council INc. ![]() The various offices Gloria held where President of Chestnut & West Mother's Club, Dane Barse PTA,Our Lady of Mercy Academy PTA, Soroptomist Club County Commission on Women, County Republican Women's Club, She was a vice chairperson for Vineland Zoning Board of Adjustment, Gloria served as a board member for Cumberland County Board of Social Services and as advisory board member for Retired Senior Volunteer Program. Gloria's charitable activities included CAtholic Charities, American heart Association, American Cancer Society, Deborah Hospital, Villa Rosello Building Fund, newcomb Hospital Foundation, United Fune, YMCA, Dottie Cullen & Friends Serving Veterans (32years), ARC of Cumberland County and Southwest Committee. As well as, being elected and serving as the first women Clerk for 20 years in 1993 Gloria was the first women in 60 years to receive the Civic Award from the Fraternal Order of Eagles in 1990 she was the first Republican women eleceted to the Freholder Board and in 1988 she was the first female member of the local Rotary Club. She was the first women in 250 years to be elected Clerk of Cumberland County, New Jersey serving in this position from 1994 to 2014. Gloria served her community in many capacities. Glorai was married to the love of her life Gerald Noto since 1950. She graduated from Vineland High School in 1950. Gloria was born on June 21, 1932, in Vineland to the late Gustave and Josephine (Maccri) Schiavo. Gloria (Schiavo) Noto, of Vineland, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on April 27, 2016. ![]()
